About the Role:
Canvassers are the face and voice of the Ada Cuellar for Congress campaign. As a canvasser, you’ll speak directly with voters at their doors and over the phone to share Dr. Cuellar’s message and encourage community participation in the upcoming Democratic Primary. Your work will play a vital role in helping elect a leader who will fight for better healthcare, stronger schools, and more opportunities for South Texas families.
Key Responsibilities:
Knock on doors and have one-on-one conversations with voters about Dr. Cuellar and the campaign’s priorities.
Make phone calls to voters and accurately record data from each interaction.
Represent the campaign in a positive, professional manner at all times.
Meet daily and weekly voter contact goals.
Follow campaign scripts and messaging guidance while staying authentic and personable.
Expectations & Requirements:
Performance will be measured by contact rate, accuracy, and overall voter outreach volume.
Up to 90% of this job may involve outdoor work; canvassers should be prepared for weather conditions.
Must have a smartphone with data access for campaign software and reporting.
Must have reliable transportation to and from canvassing locations.
Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and respect for diverse communities are essential.
Schedule & Duration:
Positions are part-time and run through Primary Election Day.
Typical shifts are afternoons, evenings, and weekends, when most voters are home.
Flexible scheduling is available, but canvassers are expected to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.
Opportunities for advancement to Shift Lead positions may be available for high performers.
Compensation:
$17.50 per hour for Canvassers
$19.50 per hour for Shift Leads
